Why Pointed Positivity

Not just a Hobby… A Practice.

1

The Science Behind Stitching

There is real research behind why stitching works. This is where we translate the evidence: what happens in your nervous system, what the studies say, and why stitching may be one of the most underrated tools for managing stress.

2

A Stitch of Healing

Research means nothing if you cannot use it. This pillar is the practical side: building a stitching ritual that fits a real life and actually supports your mental health

3

Positive Pointer Community

A Positive Pointer is someone who stitches with intention and has found that picking up a needle can be grounding, regulating, and quietly healing. This is a nonjudgmental space for anyone navigating real life through creativity.

Founder, Pointed Positivity

About Our Founder

My name is Kerry, I am a DNP-prepared pediatric Nurse Practitioner, a wife to my husband Jack, a dog mom to Bennie, a baker, someone learning floral arranging and embroidery with mixed results, and a person who believes deeply in the magic of an outdoor shower after a long day.

I picked up a needle for the first time in a Villanova dorm room over a decade ago and never really put it down. What started as a hobby became the thing I kept returning to after long shifts, hard seasons, and the kind of exhaustion that sleep does not fix.

I navigate burnout, mental, and physical health struggles. What I noticed through all of it was that the weeks I stitched, I was calmer, clearer, and more regulated. The weeks I skipped it, my anxiety came back.

I am a clinician. That kind of pattern gets my attention. So I read the research, and it turns out the science is there.

Pointed Positivity started in 2025 as a way to stay grounded, creative, and connected outside of work. It exists because needlepoint helped me, the evidence supports why, and I believe everyone deserves access to both.

Come stitch + learn with me.
